Four million Europeans actively write blogs

Mobiya defined classifieds as User Generated Content (UGC) or Consumer Created Content (CCC). Although classifieds content is very specific, the future of UGC/CCC will be driven by ‘special-interest’  portals/media publications with rich media integration, video being very important today.

Consumers that are blogging are the foundation of UGC, but how do you quantify the blogoshphere in Europe. A research conducted by Forrester Research estimated that around 3% or four  million Europeans are active bloggers. Click here to find more details on the research results in terms of demographics, media consumption, etc.

Important remark: Forrester Research did forget to include the mobile media phenomenon, which might be the explosive driver for  UGC/CCC towards the end of this decade.

Vodafone UK: 3 million premium SMS messages a week

Vf_logo_1
Vodafone customers in the UK are receiving an additional charge of 12p on Premium Rate text messages across all price points according to this article. This kind of technical errors and propaganda isn’t helping Mobiya to evangelize Premium sms as a safe and reliable mobile payment method. Equally important, a simple calculation from  the figures in the article learns me that Vodafone would make £360.000 pounds a week in additional net revenues, which means that Vodafone handles 3.000.000 premium rated text messages. Read again: Three million a week!
